Hi! Coach J here!
Welcome! Welcome! Welcome!
How was the month of April for you? Was there growth? Challenging moments, days, or even weeks? If so, that's ok, those challenging times are shaping you in a way that you will soon (if you haven't already) understand!
Nevertheless, I am right here with you, learning and growing (you are not alone).
There are seasons in life that feel heavier than others.
Not because you’re doing something wrong— but because you’re being stretched, challenged, and invited to grow in ways that require more from you.
For many, April was that kind of season. A time of: Letting go of what no longer serves you, facing parts of yourself you may have avoided, shifting your mindset, choosing differently—even when it felt uncomfortable
And if you’re being honest… it may not have felt beautiful while you were going through it. It may have felt like pressure. Like discomfort. Like uncertainty.
But just because it felt heavy… doesn’t mean it wasn’t necessary.
The Reality of “April Showers”.Growth is often described as something positive—and it is. But what people don’t always talk about is how growth actually feels while it’s happening.
It can feel like: Outgrowing spaces that once felt familiar, letting go of habits that once felt safe, sitting with thoughts and emotions you can no longer ignore, and choosing peace when chaos used to feel normal.
That kind of growth doesn’t always feel light.
Sometimes, it feels like rain. Consistent. Uncomfortable. Unpredictable. And in those moments, it’s easy to question: “Is this even working?” “Am I really growing?” “Why does this feel so hard?”
But growth isn’t always meant to feel easy. Sometimes, it’s meant to shift you.
>> Growth Happens Beneath the Surface First.
Here’s the part that’s easy to overlook: Just because you don’t immediately see change… doesn’t mean change isn’t happening.
Growth often begins internally—quietly, subtly, beneath the surface. In the way you: Pause before reacting, think differently about situations, recognize patterns you once ignored, and
choose not to return to what you’ve outgrown.
These shifts may not always be visible to others. They may not even feel dramatic to you. But they matter.
Because before anything changes outwardly… something has to change within.
May Flowers Don’t Bloom Overnight. We often love the idea of growth, but we expect to see results immediately. We want to feel different right away. We want life to look different right away. We want clarity, confidence, and confirmation right away.
But real growth doesn’t work like that.
Flowers don’t bloom the day after it rains. There is a process happening beneath the surface— roots forming, strength building, stability developing. And all of that takes time.
The same is true for you. What you worked through… what you released what you shifted internally… It’s still taking shape.
>> Trust What You’ve Already Done.
You’ve already done meaningful work. You’ve faced yourself, made difficult decisions, chosen growth—even when it felt unfamiliar, and that matters.
And now, this season isn’t about forcing more change. It’s about trusting what you’ve already started.
Trusting that your effort wasn’t wasted.
Trusting that your growth is real.
Trusting that something is developing—even if it’s not fully visible yet.
You don’t have to rush into the next version of yourself. You’re already becoming (trust that).
>> Don’t Dig Up Your Progress.
There’s a tendency, especially after doing the work, to keep checking if it “worked.”
You may find yourself: Overthinking your progress, questioning if you’ve really changed, comparing your journey to others, and/or looking for immediate proof that everything is different.
But constantly questioning your growth… can disrupt your ability to experience it.
It’s like planting seeds— and then digging them up every day to see if they’re growing. That process doesn’t support growth.
It interrupts it. Give yourself permission to trust without constantly checking.
>> Let This Season Be About Trust.
This season doesn’t require you to force anything (it may feel like it, but it doesn't). It invites you to: Be patient with yourself, stay grounded in what you’ve learned, and allow your growth to unfold naturally.
You are not behind.
You are not starting over.
You are in the middle of something developing. And just because it’s not fully visible yet… doesn’t mean it’s not real.
Coach J's Final Thought(s): What you went through was not for nothing. The effort you gave, the choices you made, the growth you stepped into… It’s all taking root.
You don’t have to rush it.
You don’t have to prove it.
You don’t have to question it every step of the way.
Give it time. With patience… with care… with consistency… You will see what your growth has been producing. Trust the process... and yourself!
As always, be kind to yourself and others this week.
Until next time .....
